DIY Button Art: Get 25+ Project Ideas!

Buttons can be used for much more than clothing! Use them to make button art for your home – here are 25+ ideas. These are so easy!

DIY Button Art for your walls

Welcome to the whimsical world of DIY button art, where those tiny little disks aren’t just for fastening clothes, but for unlocking a universe of creativity!

Turns out, you folks are as smitten with button art as I am – and why wouldn’t you be? There’s something undeniably charming about creating art with these pint-sized wonders.

Imagine a big plastic container brimming with buttons of all shapes, sizes, and colors, sitting quietly on my craft shelf.

It’s not just a container; it’s a treasure trove of possibilities, a kaleidoscope of ideas waiting to burst into life.

Whether you’re looking to adorn your walls, add some flair to your jewelry, or even transform a basic thumbtack into a piece of art, buttons are your go-to. And the best part?

You don’t need to be a crafting guru to join in on the fun. Button art is delightfully simple, so much so that I’m almost tempted to challenge you to find a difficult button project. (But let’s keep things fun and friendly, shall we?)

Now, you might be wondering, ‘What’s the secret glue that holds these masterpieces together?’ The answer lies in good old craft glue, like Aleene’s.

You want something tacky, something with a grip that says, ‘I’m not letting these buttons go anywhere.’

Mod Podge, our beloved decoupage medium, takes a back seat here, and E-6000? Well, that’s like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Stick with tacky glue for best results.

With over 25 button art ideas just a scroll away, prepare to be dazzled, inspired, and maybe a little overwhelmed (but in the best way).

Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a curious newbie, there’s a button art project with your name on it.

And once you’ve picked your favorite and brought it to life, don’t forget to share your masterpiece in the comments. I can’t wait to see which button beauty wins your heart!

I love the way you use the buttons and I want to do some too.

I love button art. Your work is outstanding. I would like to make a John Deere tractor for my nephew in greens, yellows and black. Where do you source your buttons? Thank you and continue to be amazing.

@Barb Heiniger,

Hi - I thought the same thing! They usually source the supply list, at the end of each of the directions. Any hoot - Amazon had many options, for bulk and colorful buttons! Cheap too I thought! Cathy (Virginia)
