Mod Podge Fabric Magic 20+ Easy Ideas

I was looking through my analytics the other day (don’t fall asleep yet, this isn’t about numbers) and I noticed that a lot of you are curious about something.

You want to know how to use Fabric Mod Podge, aka, Mod Podge Fabric formula. You know, the stuff in the blue bottle.

Since I like to keep all of you happy, here are over 20 ways to use this amazing formula! A lot of people think it’s only for attaching fabric to fabric, but you can do so much more with it.

I use it to prepare fabric for furniture, to attach fabric to wood, for accessories, for shoes and more!

If you do attach fabric to fabric with this Mod Podge formula then it’s washable (as long as the fabric is washable), which is pretty amazing. This is what the formula was developed for.

And if you attach fabric to something else, this formula is very durable (more so that the original formulas). Do you HAVE to use it on everything? No. But if you have it on hand, it’s a perfect use for it.

Let me know what you think, and I have to ask – which Fabric Mod Podge project will you try first?

Can I use ModPodge Fabric glossy on a wool top hat (dull finish) to make it glossy?

I am wanting to attach a completed embroidery project to an apron pocket. Will the Fabric mod podge be ok to use on the embroidery yarn? I am wanting to seal the yarn so it won't fray or catch on things and be able to wash the apron.

Hi Cheryl! The fabric Mod Podge isn't meant to be a sealer but simply to attach fabric to fabric, no sew. I would use fray check or something similar.

HI, I have a question..I'm looking for a way to fix a fabric matching game I made for our grand daughter 7 yrs. ago. The photo transfer's are peeling off and ruining the game pieces. Would this product "Fabric M.P." seal/protect the game pieces. they are 3 layers thick; back, quilt batting and the fabric front with the picture transfer made with "Avery" brand transfer medium. I really don't want to have them ruined as it was quite expensive to make and it will be a family heirloom as it has family pictures to match up. The grandkids love to play it, but I am worried they'll ruin it because the transfer medium is peeling and cracking. Please help me, as I have no idea of what or how to fix this problem. If this fabric modge podge can be used, will it allow the game to be flexible or will it be hard and stiff? I am anxious to get this fixed as our grand children are coming to visit in October. Any help would be truly appreciated!! Thank you so much! :)

Hi Lillian! You won't want to use Fabric Mod Podge. It's meant to attach fabric to fabric and have it be washable, more so than a sealer of fabric. I recommend posting a project in our Facebook group if you can? https://www.facebook.com/groups/craftywithmodpodge The reason I say that is because I don't know how to fix it. I think the community might be able to help though! You don't have to stay in the group, but I think they can help for this.

I have some heavy decorator fabric that I want to use as a floor cloth. It does not need to be painted on, just a sealer. Is Mod Podge the sealer I need? If so, which one. Thank you!

I’m trying to put a fabric picture on poster board I didn’t know about fabric mod podge. Is that why my project bowed in the middle. What can I do now?
