Mod Podge Formulas Explained

So quite a while ago, I wrote a Mod Podge formula guide. I also wrote a post on learning to Mod Podge with an FAQ.

While both of those posts were a labor of love, I still don’t think they were enough to quench the knowledge thirst of you serious Mod Podgers.

And I get it . . . because while those posts are actioned pack with tons of information, they don’t include a lot of detailed information on each formula.

This is because if I wrote a post and included a lengthy description with FAQs and project samples . . . . it would be WAAYY too long!

So long that it would be difficult to find your formula of interest just by scrolling, and you wouldn’t want to read it.

Which Mod Podge to Use

I decided to break out each into its own post – completely dedicated to EACH formula and just that formula!

Instead of having to sift through information, you can learn exactly what you want about your Mod Podge formula of interest simply by clicking through the link below.

  1. I would like to try mod podge crafts. I am wondering if I can use a linen colour chalk paint on glass or does it have to be an acrylic paint?

  2. I’ve never used mod pog but I’m real excited to try a couple of projects. I just heard about using mod pog on a wooden ornament. In the video it said brush on the mod pog, turn the photo upside down in water, peel off the photo, rob off the mod pog. Does this sound correct to you? And would you use the matte mod pog formula? Thank you.

  3. Iโ€™d love to mod podge my genuine leather clogs with paper or tissue paper. Will it work?? Use fabric or regular lodge????

    1. Hi Linda! I would prime the leather first with a paintable primer or sand the leather a bit to rough it up for Mod Podge to attach. I would use the Fabric Mod Podge. I would also join our Facebook group “Getting Crafty with Mod Podge” if you have a Facebook account so you can ask questions. Shoes are a bit tricky and so is tissue paper!

  4. Would love to try some of your new products maybe the one for material and the photo one thanks

    1. Hi Florence! Gloss will work just fine – it’s shiny. Or Matte, which is a flat finish. Either one would be great!

  5. Can you put fabric on a glass bottle , if so what should I seal it with when done? Thank you

    1. You can! And you can seal it with Mod Podge (I use gloss for glass). Or if you want to use a spray clear sealer, you can!
