Make these EASY brown paper bag ornaments in minutes with some basic craft supplies! These look so unique on your Christmas tree.
Skills Required: None. You’re using such small pieces of paper that it’s fine if you have never Mod Podged before. Even beginning crafts will be able to accomplish these Christmas tree ornaments.
I’ve been noticing an influx of brown kraft paper in craft projects lately – and I like it. I don’t know what the official definitely of “kraft paper” is, but to me it’s anything brown and paper-like. Meaning that you could also use grocery bags, lunch sacks, or whatever you have laying about.
This is another collection of Christmas ornaments that are really easy to make, and they have a simple and festive feel. I pretty much love them. Here’s how I made them.
Brown Paper Bag Ornaments
Gather These Supplies
- Martha Stewart acrylic ornament blanks
- Martha Stewart stickers – Christmas themed
- Brown kraft paper
- Mod Podge Matte
- Mod Podge Dimensional Magic (optional)
- Baker’s twine
- Paintbrush
- Pencil
- Scissors
Trace your shapes on your kraft paper of choice using the pencil.
Cut out your ornament shapes just inside the pencil lines. And the nice thing about using kraft paper is that you can erase the pencil lines and you never even knew they were there.
Mod Podge your kraft paper to the back of the ornament shape and let dry. You’ll notice there’s a little bit of overlap with the paper . . . you can trim that off with scissors once the shapes are dry.
This step is totally optional but I just love Dimensional Magic. I like to put DM on the front of all my acrylic shape projects to give them a little dimension and shine.
Place the stickers on the top of the ornaments. Stickers adhere to DM very well, so make sure of your placement! I also thought about it, and it would be fun to add letter stickers and really personalize these. I know – genius.
Loop baker’s twine to finish them off.
I’m in love with kraft paper ornaments and I think these bad boys are just the beginning. What would you make with kraft paper? I need some other suggestions.
Let me know if you would make these easy paper ornaments in the comments! I’d also love for you to check out the following projects:

Lovecraft paper ornaments! As for suggestions, you could paint small gingerbread men & women on the paper then stick to the clear ornament & have it show thru! Or paint on top of the clear ornament!
