Easy kids craft: buttoned up birdhouses

easy kids craft button birdhouses Howdy! I’m Justine from the Sew Country Chick blog, and today I’m sharing a simple and fun easy kids craft you can make with your children using Mod Podge Washout, Apple Barrel paint, buttons, and inexpensive mini birdhouses from the hobby shop.

My girls love doing decoupage projects – what kid doesn’t? Mod Podge Washout for kids is perfect because it’s easy to clean up after your kid makes a huge mess. And if they are having fun, they probably will! MP Washout is machine washable and you don’t even need to pre-soak. And then there is Apple Barrel paint – it’s versatile, all purpose acrylic craft paint that comes in tons of colors. You can clean it up with soap and water when wet. And that is what we used for our cute birdhouses. Do you want to know how they were made?

birdhousetute1Here are the materials you will need for the birdhouses:

  • Mod Podge Washout formula
  • Apple Barrel Paint in bright spring colors
  • 2 packages colored buttons from the craft shop
  • 5 mini birdhouses from the craft shop
  • Paintbrushes

After my girls were done panting, I have to admit I touched them up a little. I can’t control myself sometimes. Plus, they missed some spots!
