This DIY birdhouse is a perfect family project that's not only simple and fun but also a great way to introduce children to the joys of crafting and nature.
Start by giving the birdhouses a quick coat of paint in the color of your choice. Leave them to dry.
Cut some tissue paper squares. To easily make a bunch, fold one sheet of tissue paper and cut the folded seam and repeat this until you end up with the size you want.
Brush a layer of Mod Podge onto a section of the birdhouse, and lay a tissue paper square on it. Bush another layer of Mod Podge on top to secure the surface and edges.
To seal the birdhouse, use a few more coats of Mod Podge or sealer if you are planning to use it outdoors. Let dry completely before displaying.
Notes
I also painted a birdhouse that my daughter has previously painted to upcycle it.
