Wine Bottle Lights: Where to Get the Best!

Decoupage wine bottles are so popular in crafting these days – light them up with these wine bottle lights. Here are the best places to get them and at the best prices.

Wine Bottle Lights

In the world of decoupage, decorating wine bottles (and old liquor bottles, recycled glass jars, etc.) is huge right now. Crafters are using glass paint, napkins, and other similar supplies to decorate glass. It’s actually pretty easy if you try it.

Lights for Wine Bottles

Wine bottle crafts are currently the most popular decoupage craft in our Mod Podge Facebook group, and the same question comes up again and again: where do I get bottle lights?

But before I answer that question . . .

What Are Wine Bottle Lights?

You might be thinking that these type of lights are just like Christmas lights, so why not go ahead and use those instead?

Well there is a significant difference between the two: bottle lights have individual battery packs and do NOT need to be plugged in (so yes, you will need batteries of some sort).

In addition, many lights made for wine bottles have a battery pack that fits into the bottle OR there is a faux-style “cork” that acts as the battery pack and fits into the top of the bottle.

Some have battery packs that hang out of the bottle. Some people cut the bottoms off of their wine bottles and place them over the top of string lights with battery packs. You’ll see that when you scroll down.

Just so you know, my personal favorite wine bottle lights are the kind with the “corks” and an attached string of lights that go down into the bottle.

I just really like that look and prefer strands as opposed to one beam of light shining down into my bottles.

Where to Buy Wine Bottle Lights

It turns out there are a lot of places to get them online, and I’ve pulled together a collection for you so that you can find the best (and cheapest) wine bottle lights to fit your project.

You’ll see that they are available in online marketplaces and then individual stores – I’ve also separated them out by type.

When you purchase, pay careful attention to the battery pack and the type of lights that you are purchasing. You want to see the size of the battery pack so that you know if it’s going to fit into the bottle or not.

You also want to pay attention to whether or not your lights have a strand or a single light coming from the cork. The type that you choose to buy is entirely up to personal preference.

Remember also that some of the lights for wine bottles come in different colors. So if there’s a specific color that you want, try searching for it. I’ve seen them in all sorts of colors . . . and the blue is particularly pretty. My point is, you aren’t limited to just white lights.

As of this writing, the most popular place to get bottle lights is Wish.com. They have a variety of styles for $1 – $2 each. So far most of the lights on Wish have good ratings.

Wish does feature multiple vendors so be sure to check the ratings of the lights in your cart before your purchase. Some are ranked more highly than others. Continue on to see the full list of recommended places with links!
