Greetings from sunny California, where fall is more a state of mind than a weather forecast! Holly here, your pumpkin-obsessed, glitter-loving crafting guide.

This year, I’m taking my fall decorating game up a notch with a twist that’s sure to make my neighbors do a double-take – a dazzling, glittery house number pumpkin!

That’s right, why settle for plain, old numbers next to your door when you can bedazzle the bejeezus out of a craft pumpkin and make your address the talk of the town (or at least the block)?

I’ve taken the humble pumpkin and given it a job: not just to look pretty and autumnal, but to boldly display our apartment number in all its glittering glory.

Armed with Mod Podge, a rainbow of glitter, and a dash of creativity, I transformed a standard faux pumpkin into a sparkling beacon of numerical wonder.

It’s like a disco ball met a pumpkin and they decided to help people find their way to my door.

The process is simple: outline your house or apartment number with the miraculous stickiness of Mod Podge and then unleash the glitter!

Whether you nestle this sparkly sentinel inside your home or place it outside (under some kind of cover, because let’s be real, glitter vs. nature is a battle glitter won’t win), you can customize your pumpkin with any colors that tickle your fancy.

Go for classic autumn hues, or maybe match your glitter to your curtains – the sky’s the limit!

So, if you’re ready to add a little pizzazz to your porch and let your house number shine brighter than a harvest moon, follow along.

Let’s turn an ordinary pumpkin into a fabulous, functional piece of fall decor. Who knew being practical could be so glittery?

House Number Pumpkin

Gather These Supplies

Step 1: Lightly draw large bubble letters/numbers of your house or unit number in the middle of the pumpkin.

Step 2: Apply Mod Podge around the outside of the letters with a paint brush, outlining the letters. Sprinkle with glitter and tap to remove excess.

For best results, work on one section at a time. You can repeat any areas necessary by adding more Mod Podge and sprinkling more glitter.

Tip: if you are trying to cover an area where glitter has already been applied, go lightly with the Mod Podge. You don’t want it to look clumpy!

Step 3: Let the first layer dry completely before applying a sealant layer of Mod Podge on top of the glitter to keep it in place. Let dry before displaying.

Note: Yes, the Mod Podge is going to dull the glitter slightly when you apply it on top. In my opinion, it’s not that bad.

However, you don’t have to paint the Mod Podge on top. You can leave the glitter “free range.” Just be advised that it might flake off. Onto your floor.
