Decoupage candles with Mod Podge and glitter

This party craft is so fun – it’s a quick little way to personalize and decorate candles. And if you’re a beginner, one of the easiest projects in the world is decorating candles with glitter. It’s a great place to start with Mod Podge.

I like the idea of using numbers like the girls at Leona Lane did, but you could also use any letters that you like or shapes . . . anything with an adhesive background.

I can picture these for the new year, for a wedding, for graduation – or any time of celebration. Come over to my house in about 3 days and you’ll see glitter candles everywhere!

One thing you might be wondering about – can you burn these candles? Yes, you can. Mod Podge is non-flammable (make sure the glitter package reads non-flammable as well!). HOWEVER.

Please don’t leave these candles unattended, and if you decide to do a large candle, just use this Christmas candle method instead. Carving out a spot for a tea light is much preferred over a big mess of melted glitter and Podge.

Notes

Optionally, you can Mod Podge over the glitter after removing the stickers. This will dull the glitter slightly but will also keep it from shedding.

What size are those numbers?

The candles are about 2.5" or so with that bump on the top - so those stickers are about 1.75" tall or so.
