Medicine Cabinet Redo with Scrap Paper

This medicine cabinet redo uses a little paint, paper, and Mod Podge! This is so easy and makes a big impression in your bathroom.

Skills Required: Beginner. You’ll be applying paper to wood and the wall with Mod Podge. What makes this project easy for beginners is that if you patchwork like the project, no piece is too big or difficult to handle.

Hello Mod Podge Rocks readers! Justine from the Sew Country Chick ranch here! I’ve been giving my old 1920’s bathroom a little cosmetic facelift and thought I would share this fun and easy medicine cabinet redo with you.

Medicine Cabinet Makeover

It’s very, very easy – you just need a few simple supplies:

• Mod Podge Matte
• Wallpaper or scrapbook paper scraps (fabric would also work too)
• Paintbrush
• Scissors
• Ruler
• Pencil

That’s it! Before we dive in, you should know that this medicine cabinet redo is a relatively permanent solution. Could you remove it later? Yes, with some wallpaper remover and elbow grease. However, it’s designed to stick around.

Also you don’t necessarily need Mod Podge Outdoor, even if the bathroom gets very humid. If it’s dripping wet in your bathroom regularly, just use spray sealer or brush on sealer (let the room ventilate well if you spray).

My old bathroom had one stained glass window in it and doesn’t get much natural light, so I have been trying to add some cheer with color. I love PATCHWORK and wanted to try a little bit of a patchwork look inside!

I cut up pieces of vintage wallpaper and scrapbook paper, using the ruler and pencil to make sure they fit. Then I glued them to the back wall of the cabinet using the Mod Podge Matte formula.

Then I let it dry and covered it with two coats of Mod Podge to seal the paper to the wall. As I said before, you can finish by adding a waterproof sealer to make it very moisture resistant (pick something brush on and clear).

This medicine cabinet redo was so easy, but I think it makes a big difference in a bathroom that needed a little bit something “extra.”
