Instructions

  • Scan in and print out the images you want to use on the blocks. The blocks that I used are 1.5" cube, so I shrunk my photos down to 1.25".
  • Use Rit Dye to dye your blocks, or use acrylic paint to paint them. Let dry.
  • Using scissors, cut our the images.
  • Mod Podge them onto the four sides of the blocks. Let dry. Apply three coats of Mod Podge to seal, allowing the blocks to dry well in between coats.
  • Fold the ribbon in half, and tie a knot at the top of the ribbon. This is how the ornament will hang from your tree.
  • Take the loose ends of the ribbon and string all three blocks onto it. Tie a knot between each block if you choose.
  • Tie a knot at the bottom of the ribbon to hold the blocks on.
  • Take lengths of ribbon and tie to the loop end of the ribbon to decorate it.

Notes

You'll use four photos per block and three blocks per ornament, for a total of 12 pictures per ornament.
