Materials

  • Mod Podge Matte or Gloss
  • 24 White ping pong balls
  • 1 strand white Christmas lights 24 bulbs
  • Glitter white, large flake

Instructions

  • Start by taking the X-Acto knife and making a small hole in each ping pong ball. Smaller is better, as the ball will need to fit snugly over the lights later.
Hand holding a ping pong ball with a hole cut in the center
  • Give each ball a generous coating of Mod Podge.
Tweezers holding a ping pong ball covered in Mod Podge
  • Cover each ball in glitter and then allow to dry completely. I usually do one side, let dry, and do the other.

Notes

Be very careful while cutting the ping pong balls! Wear a leather glove to hold the ball if necessary.
For sprinkling glitter: use large plastic tweezers like you see in the image (you can find them in a craft section). Another thing I do is put "my balls" on a wooden skewer to paint, then I stick that into a block of floral foam to dry. It's so handy.
