Patriotic Mason Jar Lanterns

Use mason jars to create these cool patriotic American flag lanterns! Perfect for holidays or to celebrate your US pride.

Equipment

Materials

  • Large glass or mason jars
  • Small American flags
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Votive candles or tea lights

Instructions

  • Start by carefully removing the flags from the wood dowel rods using scissors or a craft knife.
    Cut the flags off of the dowel rods
  • Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the back of a flag.

  • Position the flag evenly on a jar and smooth out, removing any wrinkles or air bubbles that may form. Repeat with additional jars and let dry.
    Seal your mason jar lanterns with Mod Podge
  • Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge atop each flag to seal it to the jar.
  • After the jars have dried, place a candle in each and display.
