This tissue paper tassel DIY planter is perfect for an end of year teacher gift or a simple centerpiece for an outdoor summer party!
Hello! It’s Megan from Homemade Ginger again, back with a super easy project. These tissue paper tassel planters are perfect for an end of year teacher gift or a simple centerpiece for an outdoor summer party.
I recently made a conventional tissue paper tassel garland to hang above my daughter’s bed. You have probably seen them all over Pinterest lately.
But I was thinking of how to jazz up a terra cotta pot and decided that anything miniature is just adorable, so I made a tiny version to wrap around my pot and the end results are just the cutest!
Tassel Planter for a Party
Here’s what you will need:
- Tissue Paper
- Hot Glue
- Gloss Mod Podge
Step 2: Fold in half again.
Step 3: Unfold and cut along the creases that you’ve just made. You will have 2 skinny pieces.
Step 5: Fold in half the other way.
Step 6: Fold in half again.
Step 8: Cut lines in the bottom of the rectangle, stopping about a half inch from the folded top.
Step 9: Unfold your fringed piece and cut along all the folded lines. You should have 8 pieces.
Step 10: Roll each piece of tissue paper with the fringe on either side.
Step 11: Twist the center portion of the tassel.
Step 14: For the final extra touch, paint a coat of Gloss Mod Podge on the terra cotta pot. This just gives it a more finished look.
Once the Mod Podge is dry, wrap the garland around the pot, add a succulent or flower and you are done! These tiny tassels can be hung anywhere. I just love them so much!
