How to host a home bowl bingo party

Are you a football fan? Welcome to the club! I grew up with four brothers so I absolutely love football – and so do all of my neighbors. We decided this year we’re going to have a fun Home Bowl party to celebrate the Big Game!

I want you to have the perfect celebration as you bring your family together for the most anticipated football game of the year.

Coke-Ritz Party 02

I’m going to share several things with you today that will help YOU host your own fabulous Home Bowl party: a craft, a free Super Bowl bingo printable, and a recipe.

Coke-Ritz Party 03

I’m going to start by sharing one of my favorite projects EVER on this blog. It’s a hilarious and fun addition to any Home Bowl party – a football trophy centerpiece!

We’ve modeled it after the infamous Big Game trophy and added a few cute extras like a green and a Coca-Cola bottle stand. Here’s how it was done!

Gather These Supplies

  • Wood plaque
  • Coca-Cola bottle – empty, washed out, dried
  • Small plastic football
  • Piece of green felt (enough to cover the wood plaque)
  • Football field template (get it HERE)
  • Spray paint – white primer and Metallic Silver
  • White acrylic paint
  • Spouncer
  • Tracing paper and a pencil
  • Rotary cutting tool
  • File
  • Used bottle cork
  • E-6000
  • Scissors
  • Craft knife and mat
  • Stencil tape
  • Sand (or other material used to fill and weight down bottle)
Trophy Step 2

We started by making a pattern for the top of the plaque. Why? Because we wanted to cut the felt to fit the top of it, and this is the easiest way to make a pattern to get the fit exact that I’ve ever found.

Simply lay a piece of tracing paper on top of the plaque and rub around the edge with a pencil (tracing the edge).

Football Trophy Step 3

When you’re done with that, cut out the pattern, then place on top of the green felt and cut. You’ll have felt that exactly matches the plaque. Set aside.

The next step is to make a “platform” for attaching the football to the bottle. You’ll do this with a cork.

Trophy step 1

It looks like there are a lot of steps above, but it’s really quite easy. You’ll cut off the bottom of the cork until you have a small enough cork bottom to fit inside the bottle. Test it to make sure.

Then you need to cut the top of the cork off at an angle so that you can glue the football down at an angle – we just filed it down with a metal file.

Use your rotary cutting tool to round out the inside of the cork to make a more round surface for better contact when you glue down the football.

Whenever you use your rotary tool, remember to wear goggles and also to be careful cutting small pieces. Cut slowly and be safe!

Football trophy Step 4

Grab your plastic football and glue it to the rounded part of the cork with the E-6000 (let dry for several hours). Meanwhile, fill the Coca-Cola bottle with sand or some other material so that it keeps the bottle stable when the cork (with the football attached) is reinserted.

Football trophy Step 5

You’re ready to spray paint! Before you spray paint, grab a pair of goggles and put them on. Be sure to recognize all safety precautions listed on the can while painting.

Grab your primer and spray the plaque and football/Coca-Cola bottle sculpture, then let dry. Spray it all with Metallic Silver spray paint and let dry. Do several coats of the silver spray paint, then let dry for several hours.

Football trophy step 6

Print out your football field template (get it HERE) and cut out the lines with your craft knife. Place it evenly over the green felt piece and tape down.

Use a spouncer to apply the white acrylic paint until all areas of the stencil are covered (don’t soak the paper, however). Peel up immediately and let dry.

Assemble the trophy by gluing the felt to the plaque and then the bottle on top. Let dry.

Coke-Ritz Party 04

Yep, I’m providing a free printable for you to host a little friendly competition during your Home Bowl party! I find that Big Game Bingo ensures everyone can get involved with the action!

So grab a card . . . it’s fun to play while snacking on your RITZ Crackers and drinking your cold Coca-Cola straight from the bottle!

The rules of Super Bowl Bingo: the first person to match five in a row vertically, horizontally, or diagonally yells “BINGO.” That makes them the winner!

Each time you have a winner, you swap cards and start over. Play as many rounds as you like and the person that wins the most rounds is the official Big Game Bingo Champion!

Now that you have your centerpiece and your game . . . you need a delicious recipe. I have it for you!

Coke-Ritz Party 02

Introducing chili cheese dog dip! It’s a classic cheese dip recipe with a twist, inspired by hot dogs that are always served at the game. It’s tasty, creamy, and delicious. To make it, you’ll need a few ingredients:

  • RITZ Crackers
  • Cheese dip or a block of cheese
  • One can of diced tomatoes
  • One can of chili without beans
  • Two hot dogs
Chili cheese dip

The recipe is pretty simple. Cut the cheese into cubes and place into a pan. Open your cans of tomatoes and chili, pour in and stir. Thinly slice the hot dogs and cook them in a pan for a few minutes. Add them to the dip. Stir, stir, stir and you are ready in about five minutes!

Dip a RITZ Cracker in and you are tasting the best dip ever . . . that I promise you. Just try it!

What else do you need at your party?
