I wanted to create a photo frame background where switching out photos would be simple and easy. This is such budget friendly home decor!
I wanted to create a photo frame where switching out photos would be simple and easy. If you enjoy displaying vintage inspired designs in your home (and changing them regularly), you’re going to love this map craft idea.
DIY Photo Frame Background
For this project, I dug out some maps from my craft stash. I also found a nice shadow box with no glass which works out perfectly. Add two clips and you’re good to go.
Brush a thin layer of Mod Podge down on the backing and matching the map with the creases, lay it down and smooth out.
Next take another little bit of Mod Podge and brush it on the outer edge of the map, smoothing it out with your thumb. Allow to dry for a good 10-15 minutes before placing the map inside of the shadow box.
You could also just glue one clip to display one 8×10″ photo. Now the hardest part is finding the best spot for your new photo board!
