Add glitter to your decor with Extreme Glitter Mod Podge! This painted tray is perfect for a celebration or the holiday season.
There are so many decor trends out there right now and I’m so happy that glitter is still in! I mean, can it ever go out of style? Maybe. But I doubt it. Here’s an easy and stylish way to add glitter to your decor without looking childish or gaudy.
You’ll find this tray is really easy to do, and you can even make stripes with ease. I’m going to show you how. You’ll be making stripes on everything before long!
Painted Tray with Extreme Glitter
Take the painter’s tape and tape off the corners of the tray. Then create even stripes on the inside.
Paint every other stripe inside the tray with black acrylic. Then paint the remaining stripes gold. Add gold paint to the corners. Acrylic paint dries quickly so it won’t take long for everything to be dry.
Add a nice layer of Extreme Glitter Mod Podge to the black stripes inside the tray. Allow the decoupage to fully dry, about 4-8 hours. Use a blow dryer or place the tray outside for a faster drying time. Remove the tape.
Once dry, tape the inside of the tray along the edges. You’ll want to paint the inside of the handles and the inside and outside of the long sides of the tray with black acrylic paint.
Allow to fully dry before applying the Extreme Glitter decoupage medium on top of the black. Paint the edges of the tray with gold paint. Let it fully dry before decorating!
You can use this painted tray for parties (cocktails!), the holidays (Santa’s cookies go definitely go on here!), or just regular home decor. It’s up to you!
