Creative Gift Wrap and Decor with Duck Tape

Make a Christmas bunting and creative gift wrap using simple materials like Duck Tape – these projects are easy and perfect for the holidays.

Duck Tape crafts - bunting and gift wrap

I’m always up for a challenge – and I get asked all the time if Mod Podge can be used with Duck Tape. It doesn’t work directly on Duck Tape, but I wasn’t about to let that stop me.

I was determined to think of a way to incorporate the two, because let’s face it: Duck Tape crafts are the bomb!

Do you love my Duck Tape bunting . . .

And gift wrap garland?

Recently Duck Brand sent me a selection of their holiday Duck Tape, and the patterns are awesomely awesome:

So I took the challenge of creating Duck Tape crafts, and I made the projects above. Here’s how I did it.

Creative Gift Wrap

Gather These Supplies

  • Duck Tape in your choice of patterns
  • Mod Podge Dimensional Magic
  • Baker’s twine
  • Wood letters – to spell “peace”
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue

Tear off a piece of Duck Tape and place sticky side up on your surface. Cut a long length of baker’s twine and lay in the center of the Duck Tape.

Fold the Duck Tape in half around the baker’s twine.

Continue doing the same thing at equal intervals along the baker’s twine. Make sure that the pieces of Duck Tape are relatively the same size.

Using the scissors, cut the Duck Tape rectangles into triangle shapes. Be very careful not to cut into the baker’s twine!

Use glue to attach the letters to the Duck Tape and let dry. Then use Mod Podge Dimensional Magic (you can use regular or Gold/Silver sparkle) and let that dry.

To make your gift wrap garland, use small pieces of Duck Tape and the same method you used for the larger banner – you’ll also make a much longer garland so that you can wrap it around several times.

Then behold your finished projects! Creative gift wrap and a bunting. Now go out and get your Duck Tape – there are so many amazing holiday colors and patterns. I think my favorite is the Gold . . .
