These glittery DIY bookmarks are made out of a very unexpected material – bow tie pasta! Learn how to make this unique craft project.

This idea came to me as I made some homemade mac and cheese for a couple of hungry boys. I thought it would be neat to use Farfalle or Bowtie pasta instead of the typical macaroni noodles. My creative mind could not get over the cuteness of the little bows!

Immediately I knew I had to do something with them than just cook them. What better way than to splash some glitter and add gorgeous florals?
These glitter bow DIY bookmarks are an easy afternoon activity and make great gifts!

Make Bookmarks
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Farfalle (bowtie) noodles
- Mod Podge Gloss
- Glitter
- Laminated cardstock
- Glue gun
- Corner punch (optional)
- Paintbrush

Dig right in, girl! Apply a thick coat of Mod Podge to your noodles. Heavily add glitter on top and shake off any excess. Cover the glitter in another coat of Mod Podge.

I decided to use three different glitter colors because I couldn’t decide on just one! There is pink, silver and gold.
Allow to fully dry for an hour or two. Basically whenever the Mod Podge is no longer white but clear and the glitter really shines!

Cut the laminated cardstock into the size you’d like for your bookmark. Mine were about an inch and a half wide and about 8 inches long.

You can use any heavy cardstock or laminate your own like I did. Isn’t this floral pattern gorgeous? If you have a rounded corner punch, use it to polished off your bookmark corners.

Flip your glitter bow around, add a dab of hot glue and adhere it to the top of one of your cardstock pieces. Repeat for the rest of the bookmarks and allow about 5 minutes to dry.

I can’t wait to make more of these and give them away to some sweet ladies I know. Play around with different cardstock patterns and glitter colors. The possibilities are endless. Reading has never been cuter!
