Are you obsessed with prickly pears? This cute decoupaged paper cactus on wood will make a great addition to your decor.
Hello Mod Podge Rocks friends! It’s Dom from Crafted. Today I have a very simple tutorial for you.
I’m totally loving cactus motifs in artworks right now. The other thing I’m loving is raw wood. I combined those two and came up with this super simple collage art that is freakin, cute and so simple to create.
I think this cactus craft would look awesome as a set. Maybe three of them with different plants?
Paper Cactus on Wood
You will need:
- Mod Podge Gloss
- Sponge brush
- Coloured paper
- Small piece of plywood
Cut some basic “petal” like shapes from some green card.
Once you have a few of these in different sizes go ahead and cut pieces for the pot, spikes and flowers.
Place the basic plant and pot shapes where you want them on your board. Layer them so the joins are covered.
Glue the pieces down individually. Start with the pieces that are on the back “layer”.
Cover the entire surface of the block in Mod Podge.
Add the spikes and the flowers while the previous coat is still wet. With a smaller sponge brush dab a generous coat of Mod Podge to the cactus shape. This will hold the spikes as well as giving your plant some extra texture.
And you’re done! Super cute right? 🙂
