Hey guys, Lindsay from Frenchie here again with a fun party DIY that will save you some coin! I love all the fun photo backdrops I'm seeing lately, so I thought I'd give it a try with some of my favorite sequins from Hazel and Ruby. This balloon backdrop is perfect for any celebration you're planning on having this year.
- Glitter Mod Podge
- Hazel and Ruby Sequins Tubes (mine were the gold and pinks but are also available in greens)
- foam brush
- washi tape
- white sheet or wall!
Because I blog, I have a 3X5′ white backdrop anyways so I used that to cover these weird archways we have in our front entry (I really have no other area for a thing like this :/). Just use your wall if you have the space or hang a good colored sheet for the backdrop on a wall. My plan was to use my air compressor but I could not find my attachment. So, I gathered my 4 & 6 year old and had them start blowing and I'd finish it off and tie them. It's a great source of punishment if you're looking for one!
I next brushed the Mod Podge on the lower half with the foam brush and sprinkled my sequins on. If you were to dip it, it'd work – but you'd need a lot of sequins.
I then got to tape them onto my background. I only used 11 total balloons and it was enough to get the look I wanted to achieve. I think it'd look super cool with it going all the way from floor to ceiling too. My daughter thought the sparkles were the coolest. She was my little model and I told her that I'd pay her a dollar. Works every time!
