Art education was a huge part of my childhood. I really believe it has contributed to my love of crafting, writing, and other creative pursuits – my mom did good. Now of course, she could have used these art classes as a way to keep me busy and out of her hair . . . just kidding mom!
Seriously – creativity and expression were very important in my house growing up, and I took plenty of drawing classes and even went to sewing camp for a week when I was ten. My mom is actually a former teacher and a very creative woman. Art education was and still is one of my core family values.
Yesterday Duck Brand, manufacturer of the most awesome Duck Tape that we know and love, teamed up with Cindy Ambuehl to help support art education at an event called PS Arts Express Yourself in California.
Cindy is a former actress turned luxury real estate agent in Beverly Hills, and the mother of seven boys (7!). Art education is one of her values as well, and she's done this event before (read about that here).
Before I share some Duck Tape projects with you, I do want to dish a little bit about this event. Take a peek at some pictures!
The PS Arts Express Yourself event is an annual fundraiser for PS Arts – a non-profit organization in Los Angeles that partners with public schools to provide art, theater, and music education. Their mission is to improve the lives of children in under-served public schools and communities.
Lots of celebrities participated, including Rob Riggle, Lisa Kudrow, Jason Bateman (I'm a HUGE JB fan!), Eva LaRue, Mark Feuerstein, Don Diamont, and more. Looks like they had a blast and I wish I could have attended!
I absolutely love it that Duck Brand would partner up with Cindy to encourage creativity and support art education in their community – don't you? They serve as such an inspiration for other creative companies!
Now without further adieu, here are 10 Duck Tape projects I wanted to share with you. These are on my list of “must make” projects – I just need to decide which one to make first. Which project is your favorite?
