Do you celebrate Valentine's Day? Honestly, my boyfriend and I don't really celebrate the holiday in a “traditional” way. There are no candies, flowers, or sweet cards. What we like to do to acknowledge Valentine's Day is take a hike together – it's a yearly tradition! This year's going to be a little different though, because now we have a new family member here for Valentine's Day with us – meet Otto the pug!
After I lost my pug Roxie last January, I was pretty despondent. I'm a pug type of gal and for the longest time there's been a hole in my heart. A hole that only a new little pug can fill. We were just waiting for the right pup to come along . . . and this January, come along he did. So this Valentine's Day we won't be able to take Otto on our typical hike because he's too little of a guy to make it the whole way. So what we're doing is taking him on a walk all by himself! His first long walk. And we bought a special harness for the occasion – I can't wait to show you.
Otto was pretty squirmy getting him ready for his doggy date. He's never worn a harness before so this was his first time. But it's my humble opinion that if you're going on a date, you need to dress appropriately for it.
So we got him a harness from the pet store with a tie on it. Is it not HILARIOUS? This is little Otto all dressed up for his big walking date with Steve and I . . . wearing his collared harness with a striped tie. He's about the cutest mini dude I've ever seen!
Let me tell you something about Otto – once he gets his harness and leash on – he's ready to go. He took to it like a fish to water! He also took to digging in the dirt on our walk the same way. Which – after date night – required a bath.
If you don't know anything about pugs, they are notorious for shedding – and clogging drains. But just as pets are an important part of my home, so are unclogged pipes. I've got to keep them clear as our pipes (in particular) clog very easily! And that's when it's time to bring out the Liquid-Plumr Full Clog Destroyer.
Liquid-Plumr Full Clog Destroyer is a thick gel that is great at tackling tough clogs like pet hair – but also grease, soap scum, and human hair too. This is a product that I use on a monthly basis to keep my pipes flowing smoothly and smelling clean.
After you give your pet a bath (and the pet is far away from the tub) pour it right in following the instructions on the back of the bottle. It's not just for clogs but for slow flow as well. I love this stuff because then I don't have to call (and pay) a plumber to fix my drains. I can DIY it!
