My niece Maria turned four years old in July, and it’s amazing how quickly kids grow and develop an interest in art and creativity. I’ve loved watching her involvement in art flourish, and our entire family is very encouraging. After all – my mom was an elementary school teacher for years and art education was incredibly important to her!
When I learn about art education events, I get very excited. Art education has such a positive long term impact on children; from their imagination to their long term health and well-being! Yesterday Duck Brand (makers of your favorite Duck Tape!) teamed up with Cindy Ambuehl to help support art education at a yearly event called PS Arts Express Yourself in California. Cindy is a former actress turned luxury real estate agent for The Agency in Beverly Hills, and she is also the mother of seven boys (7!). She supports art education and has participated in this event several times before (see her posts here: 2013, 2014, 2015).
Here is Cindy on the red carpet of the event with her husband Don. The event was held in the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica airport and several celebrities were in attendance. You’ll probably recognize Adam Scott (he’s hilarious!):

The event was a great success and RAISED OVER $25,000 FOR ARTS EDUCATION. Isn’t that amazing? The theme of the event was “Home is Where the Art Is” and so I selected 10 Duck Tape projects today that you can make and use inside your home. Think Duck Tape is for crafts only and not for home decor items? Think again! Let these Duck Tape projects inspire you!
