I have a few favorite holidays and I'm going to be honest, they all revolve around candy. Of course I love my family and friends and celebrating with them, but I really, really love sweet treats – guilty as charged! Easter actually has some of my favorite candies of the year, and let me tell you my absolute favorite: Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs!
One of my favorite memories of Easter when I was little was decorating eggs. My mom used to buy us the old-fashioned kit with the tablets and we made it a family affair to decorate our eggs. EVERYONE participated, including my mom and dad, which was rare – there were seven of us in my home and so it was hard to get everyone together. Yet for Easter egg decorating, we were always there as a family. I loved those times!
I've come up with three different ways that you can create memories with your own family using Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs! Not only is it fun for everyone to do, you get to eat the fruits of your labor – and that is my favorite kind of craft. Check out my three ideas for egg decorating below.
For your base, you're going to need a variety of #HersheysEaster products. As I mentioned, my favorite are the Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs. I also really love the Reese's White Peanut Butter Eggs so had to grab a few of those! This year I added at third variety of peanut butter eggs – the mini version in yellow. Fun, right? Now let's talk decorating eggs!
Idea #1 – colorful lines
This one is simple and makes the peanut butter eggs look like painted easter eggs! Grab frosting tubes in the colors of your choice and a thin tip that makes a line.
All you're going to do is squeeze the lines directly on top of the peanut butter eggs and let cure. SO fun!
Idea #2 – star dots
This method is also quite simple and uses multiple frosting colors. Simply unscrew the line tip and add the star tip to the top. Squeeze and pull up to create your dots! Repeat with a variety of colors and let cure.
Idea #3 – flowers and leaves
This is one of my favorite ways to decorate the eggs because it's really pretty and probably the easiest of the three ideas!
Simply squeeze a bit of frosting on the back of the edible flower and press onto the egg.
Then using the leaf tip on your frosting bag (and green frosting) add leaves to the edge of each flower! Squeeze more frosting to make the leaf wide at the base and pull back to create the tip. Let cure and you're done.
It's so easy to Celebrate with Hershey’s using this simple idea! You can decorate these eggs in minutes and it's the perfect way to dress up a delicious candy so it's ready to gift or serve at a party.
