My niece has a favorite TV show – it's called Paw Patrol! It's about a group of seven rescue dogs in training, led by a little boy named Ryder. It's a super cute show and we've watched it together on many occasions. Last time we were together, we wanted to chill out after a visit to the park. Paw Patrol wasn't on, so honestly . . . I wasn't sure what to watch.
It's not always easy to entertain a three-year-old! Luckily, the X1 operating system from XFINITY has a ton of kid-friendly features like Kids Zone. have you heard of it? Kids Zone isn't offered by Google Fiber!
Kids Zone is a special section of X1 that was designed just for kids. It includes favorite TV shows, movies, On Demand choices . . . and even DVR'd recordings. The funny part is that my niece totally figured out how to operate it! The nice part is that she can be independent and pick what she wants to see but I can disable certain features like channel/up down and also the ability to purchase programming.
The interface is perfect for kids and it's something that Google Fiber just doesn't offer.
But that isn't all the fun from XFINITY.
They also have a Voice Remote that kids will enjoy!
The XFINITY Voice Remote is pretty cool. You can try it with favorite movie quotes AND finding shows by topic. My brothers would actually love it . . they are always quoting movies (yes, even still as grown adults!). The remote's most recent update allows you to speak into the remote with phrases from the popular Cartoon Network show Teen Titans Go! And if you really love minions? You can say “banana” or “kudos!” into the remote for some hilarity!
Again, you can't do this with Google Fiber.
Now that you've seen some of the cool things that XFINITY offers and Google Fiber doesn't, have you tried either one of these? And what's your kids favorite show?
