If you've been to my blog before, you might know that I went to sewing camp at 10 years old. While the other children were doing cool outdoor camp-y things like archery and horseback riding, I was packing a lunch and going to sewing classes with “old people” (they were probably in their 30s). At the time I hated it. Okay, let me rephrase that – I didn't understand why I had to go. But my parents are pretty skilled people (they can fix ANYTHING) and so they felt like I should be skilled too. I appreciate it now.
So now I'll tell you why I picked this sewing machine decoupaged with pattern pieces to feature.
My sewing machine had been out of commission for quite awhile, so I just recently bought a new one – the Brother CS6000i – and I'm taking sewing classes with my friend Maya at the end of the month. It's like sewing camp all over again, except I get to bring a friend! I'm looking forward to the refresher, and really looking forward to decoupaging the hard case of my sewing machine with pattern pieces, just like this guy above. I only hope mine turns out as gorgeous.
And now I have to ask, would you ever Mod Podge your sewing machine?
