Easy scrap busting decoupage canvas

Easy scrap busting decoupage canvasMy recent move required me to go through all of my craft supplies. I’m telling you my friends, if you need to pare down the crap in your craft room, pretend you are moving. You can even pretend you’re only allowed to bring ten boxes with you. Can you imagine? Well, I didn’t pretend – I did. I parted with a lot of stuff, but one thing was very difficult to part with . . . my fabric scraps! They don’t take up a lot of room, so they are easy to bring. But at the same time, I realized that I keep carrying my scraps around with me, instead of actually DOING something with them. That’s where Stephanie’s project comes in! She used her fabric scraps to make this fun little sewing machine canvas. Which gives me a great idea – I’m going to do the same thing in my new studio, and do a series of craft supplies (like scissors, a Mod Podge bottle, etc). Thanks to Stephanie for this brilliant idea. And if you want to know how she made her canvas, which I know you do, visit her at the link below.

Thanks for sharing my project Amy!! And, funny thing is, I’m moving too – it really has forced me to think about using up scraps instead of shuffling them around :)

This is great and so cute! I can’t wait to see what you come up with! That sounds like so much fun, I have a small space in my bedroom and would be a fun project!

LOL!!! Four years ago we moved from a big 15 room house, with a double garage. It was the family home that I lived in for some 43 years; 38 of them with my husband. We downsized to a small house with 5 room house; the old living room was as big as the house and no garage So I sorted and sorted and gave away stuff, and am still doing so…it comes to a point that if you haven’t used it in 30 years you aren’t going to use it!! My mom had a fabric store; that was the hardest to part with but I kept some of it. I was lucky that my son bought a big house and keeps alot of it at his house, but I will soon be back to sorting. Good luck with your sorting! Love the idea of the sewing machine made from fabric – perfect to perk up my wall in my craft room!
