It's the summer of love baby! I am excited to share a quick Duck Tape® tutorial – really quick. Because there's nothing I love more than a craft you can complete in just a few moments. I had some wood shapes, and I decided to create some summer of love wall art with Duck Tape®. They have some fun colors in their spring release (loving the neons) and some glitter patterns you are going to go crazy over. How did I make this wood wall art so easily? Learn how below!
Gather These Supplies
- Duck Tape® in the colors of your choice (find Duck Tape here)
- Wood shapes – I used a peace sign and a heart peace sign
- Craft knife and mat
Here are the Duck Tape® rolls I received to use for my project. I love all of them, but I REALLY loved the mini rolls in neon colors. They are so versatile – perfect for personalizing!
Here's a closer look at the glitters. The glitter looks like it's infused into the tape, as opposed to just sitting on the top. It's really cool!
Here is one of the wood pieces I started with. They have tons of these same types of surfaces in the seasonal section of your craft store.
To decorate your wood pieces, just pick a starting point and start smoothing down tape. As you can see, I chose to do a diagonal pattern with my neon Duck Tape® . . . and throw some silver in (love that color too).
Once you are done covering the entire surface, trim the edges with a craft knife.
For the small areas, simply turn over the wood shape onto a craft mat and cut the Duck Tape® from behind.
That's it! I love how glittery the pink Duck Tape® is. It looks great hanging on the wall. You too can have summer love wall art in a matter of minutes – just grab some fun colors of Duck Tape® and get crafty.
