The tools of a small business owner

This post brought to you by GoDaddy. All opinions are 100% mine.

There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes of being a small business owner. Yep . . . I'm not just a blogger! Though I am apparently someone who keeps way too many tabs open on their computer desktop, as you can see above. But seriously, in addition to blogging, I also do freelance writing and design work for craft companies. I am very thankful for my job!

I've had a different LLC for two years already and I am currently in the process of LLC'ing "Amy Anderson Crafts" as an official business, and I purchased the domain a few months ago through GoDaddy (it's still under construction). I'm excited for the new changes and, God willing, new business opportunities! So I wanted to share some of my tools for working effectively – for instance, here are three things I can't live without as a small business owner:

  1. My computer (of course!)
  2. A good accountant and lawyer
  3. Microsoft Office 365 from GoDaddy

Microsoft Office 365 is a tool that I was recently given the chance to try, and after a short period of time I'm already addicted! It features things like email, collaboration, and online meeting solutions. You can also access web apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (which I use all the time).

It was easy to set up – I started with a new email for my Amy Anderson Crafts organization. You don't need advanced IT knowledge . . . there are tools to guide you through it, and it's partnered with 24/7 Expert support. This is great since obviously I'M the IT department!

You can create a team site – meaning if there are multiple members of your organization, you can create a hub where the team members can log in and access the info they need. You can customize this area (wahoo for logos and colors), and you can also add apps that are useful for your team. I'll be using this shortly since I'm planning on hiring a virtual assistant!

You can design your company website with ease. Nice if you aren't a professional designer (I'm not!).

With the OneDrive portion of 365, you can upload documents, edit them online (and at the same time), and share them with anyone you want.

Finally, there are project management tools so that you can manage tasks and schedules online. I love that! If you are a small business owner, you really need to check this out. Here's a video with more information:

I would love to be able to access my documents from anywhere & be able to use Excel on my husbands computer, which does not have Office.

I really like the idea of getting a hub site for everyone to be able to access/collaborate on projects through.

I always wanted to design my own website but due to lack of knowledge of designing web format and such, it was too hard! Haha so I am really excited to see how it is easy to design with the help of this GoDaddy business plan! Thank you for the giveaway!
