I just can’t get over the mustache trend – I kind of refuse to. I recently did a glitter mustache canvas on DIY Candy and it was so fun! Then there was the time I did the mustache stool. So when I saw these little mustache wood accents at Michaels the other day, I knew I had to use them . . . and figured they would work perfectly with my new Mod Podge Rocks stencils. These wood tags are perfect for gifts, ornaments, or you can adapt this idea to something completely different. Here’s how I made them.
Gather These Supplies
- Wood tags
- Wood mustache accents
- Mod Podge Rocks Stencil – Chevron and Dots
- Mod Podge Gloss
- Mod Podge spouncers
- Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint – Vanilla Bean, Lake Frog, Deep Sea
- Glitter in the color of your choice
- Baker’s twine
- Craft glue
Remove the stencil and sprinkle glitter on top of the Mod Podge. Dump the glitter off onto a piece of paper or a glitter tray (pour the remaining glitter back into the jar). Do the same with the other gift tag.
You’ll have some excess glitter on each tag, but don’t brush it off yet. Wait until the Mod Podge is completely dry and then use a dry brush to remove the excess.
Note: Wash the stencils immediately and return them to the backers. You can use them multiple times!
