“What I love about you” valentine box.

What I love about you valentine boxDo you tell the people in your life what you love about them? I do it sometimes, but honestly, sometimes it’s hard to remember to say those sorts of things. I get caught up in working, snuggling my dogs and watching reality TV. If you’re like me, I have a solution. This is a cute gift that you can give to a loved one – a “what I love about you” Valentine’s Day box! In it you will put a bunch of individual slips of paper that say what you love about that person (I have a downloadable file at the end of this post). Once you are done, the box can be reused. Fun, right? Learn how to make it below.

IMG_6833Remove the lid from the box and trace one side onto the back of the scrapbook paper – do it four times to get a piece for each side.

IMG_6835Cut out the scrapbook paper and make sure it fits all four sides (trim if it doesn’t). Set aside.

IMG_6834Trace the acrylic heart on the back of the scrapbook paper and cut it out.

IMG_6837Adhere the paper to the back of the heart using Mod Podge. Set it aside to dry.

IMG_6836Paint the box and the lid with Porcelain Doll. Let dry.

IMG_6840Give the lid several coats of Extreme Glitter in Hologram. It’s hard to see the sparkle in the picture, but it’s really sparkly! Let it dry.

IMG_6839Adhere the paper to all four box sides using Mod Podge. Let dry for 15 – 20 minutes, then apply a top coat.

IMG_6838Apply a “LOVE” rub-on to the front of the heart and then add Dimensional Magic to the top. Let dry for several hours.

IMG_6850Glue the heart to the top of the box.

What I love about you valentine boxYou’re done! Print out several sheets of the PDF below and cut them apart – write things you love about your box recipient on them and tuck in the box.
