How to decorate a frame in five minutes with glitter

How to decorate a frame in five minutes with glitterEveryone loves quick crafting ideas, right? That was one of the big reasons I developed the Mod Podge Rocks Peel n’ Stick stencils! I wanted to be able to decorate something quickly with Mod Podge and glitter, and this frame is a perfect example of what I had in mind. If you want to make favors, or a bunch of gifts at once, or just want to decorate . . . you’re going to love this. Not only it’s quick, but it’s budget friendly. Here’s how I decorated this frame.

Gather These Supplies

  • Inexpensive plastic frame
  • Mod Podge Peel ‘n Stick Stencil – Starlite
  • Mod Podge Gloss
  • Mod Podge spouncers
  • Glitter – color of your choice

IMG_3077Make sure your frame is clean and decide on the stencil you want to use. Might I recommend the Starlite pattern? Decide on your design placement – I put a portion of the design in each corner.

IMG_3078 Carefully peel the stencil from the backer and place down on the frame right where you want it – smooth it down.

IMG_3079 Use the spouncers to apply a medium layer of Mod Podge to the stencil. Work quickly so that the Mod Podge doesn’t dry.

IMG_3080Remove the stencil and sprinkle glitter on top of the Mod Podge.

IMG_3081 Dump the glitter off onto a piece of paper or a glitter tray so that you can pour it back into the container.

Repeat the process with the other side of the frame – being careful not to disturb the designs you’ve already done. Let the Mod Podge dry completely. Use the paintbrush or a similar tool to remove the excess glitter from the surface – just brush it away.

How to decorate a frame in five minutes - with glitterThat’s it! Besides the drying time, it really took me five minutes. You can use any of the stencil designs in this way. Which else could you decorate in five minutes?
