This post brought to you by Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control. All opinions are 100% mine.
The temperature here at Chez Mod Podge is a huge deal. Honestly, I’m annoying about it. I like it somewhere in the 63 – 68 degree range at all times, which is a small window. I like it cool but not too cool . . . is a five degree comfort window too small? Ha! I don’t think so.
There are several factors which can impact the temperature of my place, the largest of which being the morning sun. I also have concrete floors and high ceilings, so there can be major temperature fluctuations in here in the course of a day. It’s easy to heat up and difficult to cool off. Welcome to my life!
All this being said, I’m excited about the upcoming release from Honeywell – the Honeywell Wi-Fi Smart Thermostat with Voice Control. The new voice technology allows consumers to simply say, “Hello, thermostat,” to activate and control their home’s temperature. Yes – you talk to the device to make it change temperature. And if you are worried that the kids are loud and it won’t hear you, never fear – it has far-field voice-control technology, which breaks through the ambient noise and recognizes commands such as “make it four degrees warmer” or “make it much cooler” – even from across the room.
I’m slightly concerned that this thermostat is going to be smarter than I am (no, really). It also gets smarter over time. And that makes me wonder, will I be able to train it to write blog posts?
You can customize it to match your home decor as well. And to finish off the awesomeness, you can regulate energy usage through your smart phone – the app is available on Google Play™ or iTunes™. It’s going to be available in November 2013, and you can learn more about it (including where to purchase) at www.wifithermostat.com/voice.
Of course you’ll be able to come back here in a few weeks to see how it works, because I’m going to try it out! And to celebrate, I’m also hosting a giveaway on behalf of Honeywell. Just enter below!
