Cleaning up after my pets part deux.

This post brought to you by BISSELL Homecare, Inc.. All opinions are 100% mine.

I recently posted about my dog hair problem here in Mod Podge Command Central. It’s always out of control, and keeping it in check means vacuuming on a daily basis. I could have gotten away with every day until I got two puppies – now there’s no way around it.

So I told you before that I was really excited to try the BISSELL’s PowerGlide Bagless Pet Vacuum. I also mentioned that I like vacuuming (I think it’s the instant results?), so picking a vacuuming is a fun task. The only thing is that as you can imagine, whatever vacuum I choose needs to be really adept at picking up dog hair. And the kind of dog hair that gets caught in stuff and doesn’t want to come out. So let’s see how the BISSELL PowerGlide faired.

I tried the PowerGlide in my small living area, where I have a rug and a couch. It’s dog central and I like to spend about 10 – 15 minutes a day cleaning it up. It’s very important that I can do quick touch ups in this area.

One of the real tests was the Pet TurboEraser® Tool on my couch – my dogs aren’t even allowed on the couch and there is dog hair on it (I think Yoshi jumps up there occasionally despite my rules).

I also tried it in the bedroom area. My dogs are like my kids (very, very furry children) and have free reign of the house. This means that they bring the messes all over the house, including where I sleep. This vacuum is lightweight enough to bring anywhere you need it in your place – and the type of floor doesn’t matter. You can turn the bottom rotating brush on and off for use on carpets vs. hard floors.

This is the crevice tool, which is perfect for vacuuming up hair off of the shelves and from the corners. I get hairballs in the corner every single day.

One thing I want to point out that you should remember is that the button next to the power button labeled “brush” is what you push when you want the bottom brush to go on (for carpets). At first I didn’t have this on and then wondered why it wasn’t sucking up any hair. Another good reminder to read instructions – haha!

So how did it fair? I’ll let you take a peek at the picture above. This is after 10 minutes of vacuuming around my loft and that’s it. And in case you were wondering, I used my old vacuum in my apartment just the day before. I’m thrilled with the BISSELL and horrified at what my old vacuum didn’t pick up! Seriously – this is the most amazing vacuum I’ve ever had. The suction is SO strong and it really gets all the hair up. I’m so, so excited. This vacuum is completely amazing!
