Mod Podged spool garland

mod podged spool garlandHello there, Mod Podge fans! This is Linda, from burlap+blue, and I have a fun and fabulous tutorial for you all today that you can easily customize to match any room in your home!

I’m a huge fan of using garlands in my home décor . . . and this mod podged spool garland, with its bright colors, is perfect for spring and summer! Here’s what you need to make one of your own . . .

mod podged spool garlandMaterials:

  • Mod Podge
  • wooden spools (I got mine from Hobby Lobby)
  • scrapbook paper
  • twine or ribbon for hanging

Step 1: Cut your scrapbook paper to fit your spools. My spools came in a pack of 20, and I used 16 of them to make my garland. Just a note, scrapbook paper works better than cardstock for this…it’s thinner and more flexible and attaches more easily to the spools. Have some tissue paper or wrapping paper you’d like to use for this project? Go ahead-both would work great!

Step 3: Once dry, add one or more coats of Mod Podge to each spool. Let dry.
