Make some trompe l’oeil wood bangles


When I first heard tromp l’oeil I thought “trompe de la what?” The definition is “an art technique involving realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.” To sum it up, in decoupage it’s intended to make it look like there is something on the surface (rope, chain, etc) that isn’t really there. I particularly like trompe l’oeil in black and white – like this jewelry from Martha Stewart. It’s so easy. You just need the bangles, some paint and Mod Podge.
