A week ago today I had the honor of attending and co-hosting a Home Depot do-it-herself workshop in Kennesaw, Georgia. If you’ve never been, these are FREE workshops that are held on the third Thursday of every month in the evening – and they are just for women! You’ll learn how to take back your DIY to-do list from your hubs and . . . do it yourself! These workshops are open to all skill levels.
This latest workshop topic was Inspired by Pinterest: Framing a Mirror with Tile. An example is shown above – and let me tell you, this mirror is so easy to make. It’s literally a three step process and you are done! The supplies from Home Depot make it so simple that my pug could do it . . . and you can choose any type of tile you like. I’d definitely go for blue.
When I say that the Kennesaw store does it right – they do it right. We had food, feather boas, and excitement (get a recap from my friend Sally here) . . . Lisa and Megan (to my right in this photo) are an amazing do-it-herself team. A huge thanks to the entire team at Home Depot store #106 for all of their hard work. Don’t you love that all of the guys are wearing pink??
I’ve got another huge thanks to give – the team from Plaid came out to support me as well. We used the photo booth to take some fun shots. Do you believe me about the Kennesaw store now? They really make these DIH workshops a blast!
Not only did we learn how to make a tile mirror, but we used some of the Home Depot’s awesome tiles to make Mod Podge coasters. If you want to make Mod Podge coasters, head to HD. They have what you need for this perfect budget craft.
A satisfied customer! If you haven’t considered going to a do-it-herself workshop, you need to – they are truly a blast. Check the schedule for the topic . . . and remember, they are at ALL stores on the third Thursday of every month, so the next one is going to be on March 21st.
Are you ready to make a mirror and be eligible to win a $100 HOME DEPOT GIFT CARD? Get on it! Just pin your finished project with the hashtag #DIHworkshop. I’ll pin all of the entries to my Do-it-herself Pinterest board as well. Simply enter using the Rafflecopter form below!

PICK ME!
Amy – you did such a great presentation! Like public speaking was your full time job.
I loved that those tiles Home Depot supplied for the Mod Podge coasters were only $0.16 each – you couldn’t find a more affordable gift than that at the Dollar store.
I SO meant to go to this workshop at my local HD and realized earlier this evening that I TOTALLY forgot about it. &#*$% !!!!
Who wouldn’t love a HD gift card?! I’ve never been to a do-it-herself workshop. My store holds them during prime dinner/homework/scouts/tae kwon do time–when the moms can’t go!
I had no idea Home Depot did this! So awesome.
I had no idea about these workshops. I’m on my way to find out about them at my local Home Depot. I want to make your mirror – I’ve got to go get the supplies. (That’s when I’m finding out about the workshops.) YAY – another cool thing from Amy. I need to have a Pinterest board just for YOU!
I love Home Depot. This is a fun and easy project…I want to check out more at my local Home Depot. Thanks for hosting this!
I was so sad to miss this workshop! It sounds like it was so much fun. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it to one in the future!
