So all of you know that for the past 365 days I have been quite a busy bee, moving from Georgia to Seattle and back . . . it’s been a heck of year! When I left my apartment in Georgia I moved in with my parents in Seattle for awhile – but then when I came back, I had to try to figure out where in the nuts I was going to move from across the country. And I was picky about where I wanted to live this second time around in Atlanta. Since I work from home now, I really, really wanted a loft. One with tall ceilings, concrete floors, and enough space to do projects and take photos of them. I found that place with the help of a lovely service called apartments.com.
It’s about as easy as it gets to search their database. You simply visit their home page (apartments.com), enter in the zip code you are looking for, your bedroom/bath requirements, and then the rent. You’ll get a ton of search results with images, and you just click into the listings for more information. You’ll get information about apartments such as:
- Square footage
- Community amenities
- Pet policies (pugs must be allowed!)
- Neighborhood and transportation
You’ll also get a lot of images from your search that will give you an idea if the place is really “you.” I liked the quality of the search results as well. I didn’t want to live in a cruddy place, and there were no cruddy places on apartments.com. It made it very easy to complete my apartment search from 3,000 miles away. They also have a mobile app available for iPhone, iPad and Android!
