I have a new addiction for you, I’m pleased to say. Introducing Tophatter – a very fun and FREE online auction site. This site is a live, real time auction house where sellers from all over the world auction off unique goods in fast-paced virtual auction rooms. From crafts and DIY projects, to antiques, jewelry, electronic, gourmet food, home décor and much more, there’s no limit to what you can discover on Tophatter.
Basically the site is like a virtual shopping party. Buyers can interact, chat and purchase items in real time. It’s the closest you can get to a real life, in person auction!
When you first head into Tophatter, this is what you will see:
A collection of auctions that are going on, and ones that you can RSVP for. One of the auctions going on when I entered was for craft supplies – and the prices were outrageously good. Huge lots of beads going for $5 – $10, and lots of inventory. It was so fun!

I love everything I’ve found on there and spent hours browsing the site the first time I went on. And it’s not just for buyers . . . if you are an online craft/DIY seller, you should definitely check it out. There are hundreds of people in some of the auctions – that’s a lot of people looking at your wares!

How cool. I have leftover inventory from craft fairs I want to sell but not enough to open a virtual shop. This looks like the perfect solution.

do the auctions change every day? I just visited it and there is only jewelry, beads, and more jewelry. I’m interested in crafts like paper cards, stock, stamps, etc.
Hi Margaret! Yes, there are always different auctions. I’d keep your eyes out over the next few weeks. The holidays are so close – I bet we see a lot more after they are over!
