Mod Podge reversible Christmas ornaments

Mod Podge Reversible Christmas OrnamentsHello fellow Mod Podgers! I’m Jessica from Mom 4 Real, and today I want to show you how to make these cute Mod Podge reversible Christmas ornaments. I am a huge fan of easy and inexpensive crafting, and these ornaments are both inexpensive and super easy to make!

You will need unfinished paper mache’ ornaments (you could also use empty ribbon spools), scrapbook or wrapping paper, letters, ribbon, a foam brush, and of course, Mod Podge. I also used the squeegee from the Mod Podge Tool kit.

Begin by tracing your circles on the paper of your choice.  Since I am making 3 ornaments, I needed 6 to cover the fronts and backs.

Next, coat one side of your ornaments with a thin layer of Mod Podge.

Smooth one of your cut out circles onto your ornament front.  I used this cool Mod Podge squeegee to smooth out any wrinkles, but feel free to use an old gift card or your fingers if you don’t have one.

Now, apply a thin coat of Mod Podge onto the top of the paper.  This will help seal your paper and give it a nice sheen.  Repeat this process on the other side of your ornament.

Once both sides are dry, apply a thicker coat of Mod Podge all the way around your ornament.

Press your ribbon all the way around the ornament, cutting it at the end.

To finish, simply apply Mod Podge to the back of your letters and place them firmly on the front of your ornaments.  Let dry, then hang em’ wherever you wish!

Mod Podge Christmas OrnamentsAs you can see, I chose JOY.  The beauty of these easy ornaments is you can make them say whatever you like, and if they turn, the back is as pretty as the front!  Thanks so much for having me, and have a joyful holiday season. Love this easy and very cute project! I think I’ll try it with my crafty 7 yr old over Thanksgiving break. I have everything I need, since I may have been hoarding empty ribbon spools :) Glad to see Mom 4 Real over here at Mod Podge Rocks!

I love this idea, and as I was reading and saw the ribbon trim I thought about the empty spools I have from the ribbon. Why not use those??? reused and upcycled.
