You could pay a jagillion dollars for designer sparkle shoes, but you really don’t have to. Lindsay shows you how to make designer inspired flats quite easily with Mod Podge, including the fancy bow. It just so happens that I’m going to do this very project on some old mary janes, probably with tons of blue glitter. I’m wondering how it will look if I mix it all together? I guess we’ll find out soon! In the meantime, visit Lindsay to see how she decorated budget flats and made them look like a million bucks.

Awesome! Love glitter shoes! In high school I had those three stripe adidas shoes and covered them with different glitter nail polish colors.
I’m going to do this with blue glitter and a pair of black flats. But I’m only going to do the toe area. I’m excited
For one New Year’s Eve Celebration, I’ve spent the entire party staring into one girl’s shoes that were entirely covered in red glitter. It’s my turn!
I tried this, and it flakes off
We had a little experiment with this recently…had the flake-off problem happen as well. After some trial and error, found this works best:
1) Use sand paper to “rough up” the area you are coating in mod podge/glitter. This will help it stick better.
2) Mix FINE glitter directly into the mod podge (the larger glitter chunks don’t stick as well as fine glitter.) Apply the mix, and additional glitter if you would like. This worked great! Some of my coworkers glittered the entire shoe, but I only glittered the toe area of black pumps from Payless. They all looked awesome, and there was no flaking!
I love the sparkles. I covered my old shoes with fabric and Mod Podge, but I think I am going to try glitter next.
