Cathe from Just Something I Made has a pretty awesome Reader’s Digest condensed book collection, which she’s acquired for quite awhile from thrift stores and yard sales. Depending on the quality she uses the book pages for her crafts – and her secret ingredient is Mod Podge. Cathe reinforces the pages with Mod Podge before she crafts with them, which is a little known secret. Yes, Mod Podge makes paper harder to tear. Cathe has done so many amazing crafts with book pages, including this butterfly shadowbox (that butterfly was printed on the book pages first!). Visit Cathe ASAP to see what else she has done with Mod Podge and book pages. It’s pretty cool.

Blogger who loves the color blue and sock monkeys. You can find me in public easily— I'm wearing glasses and lots of stripes.

That is amazing!! Dang it, my grandparents had a HUGE collection of Readers Digest condensed books (like enough to cover several walls of shelves.) I read every single one of them as a kid but years later after they’d died and we were cleaning out the house, I never thought to take all the books with me. Now I am kicking myself!! This picture reminds me of how gorgeous the covers always were. And this project is fantastic!
I LOVE THIS! It makes me want to go out and buy some Reader’s Digest books when I am thrifting!
