Hill’s Science Diet Healthy Mobility dog food and giveaway.

I’m a total nut when it comes to my dogs – I have to admit my friends, I love them more than Mod Podge.  I call them the piggies for those of you who don’t know.  Mod Podge Roxie is one of them (see her above).  Isn’t she sweet?  I love talking and posting about my piggies.  Recently I received a gift basket from Hill’s Pet Nutrition to try on the piggies.  You can see what I got below.

The toys are cool, but what I was really interested in was the Hill’s Science Diet Healthy Mobility Small Bites.  My dogs aren’t young.  You could say that I’m running a bit of a doggie geriatric ward here at Mod Podge Command Central.  Roxie is 9 and she is the youngest.

Walker, while he looks like a puppy, is 10.

Nellie is my sweet senior.  Her exact age is unknown, but she’s at least 13.  Nellie waddles because she has a hard time walking.  Anything that I can do to help her, including giving her food that helps with her arthritis, is definitely sometime I’m willing to do.

Hill’s has recently launched the Hill’s Healthy Mobility Challenge, and I’ve joined to try out the food.  Just by signing up to take the challenge you will receive a $30 Hill’s Healthy Mobility Coupon and an automatic entry in the Healthy Mobility Challenge sweepstakes where 30 winners will receive free pet food for an entire year. I encourage you to get more information on Hill’s Science Diet Dog Food and stay connected with Hill’s Pet Nutrition on Facebook.  Take the challenge along with me!  There’s another contest too.

But before I tell you about that, Roxie wanted me to show you these pictures with her new toys.

She’s so embarrassed.  Not really.

Pippi Pugstocking!

Okay, maybe not.

So more about the contest. Myself along with several other bloggers are giving away a $1,000 PetSmart Gift Card.  Comments on each of the participating blogs will be collected and then one winner will be chosen from all comments on all of the participating blogs. You can enter the giveaway by leaving a comment below letting me know your favorite moment with your dog or your dog’s favorite activity. You can earn four entries for blog comments so make sure you check out some of the other participating bloggers that can be found in the contest rules. You can also earn an entry by tweeting a message containing the URL of this blog post with the hashtag #HillsPet. As with the blog comment entries, you can also earn four entries for tweeting.

Yay!  I’m so excited to see how the piggies do on their new food – I would love for you to join the challenge with me.

  1. Love the pug :)

  2. cute dogs.. My best moment with my dog was when she started to trust me and I taught her how to shake hands, sit, lay down, catch a treat and stand on her back legs all in 2 weeks. I got her from the animal shelter and she had been abandon at a rest stop somewhere.. She was scared of everyone and everything she shook like crazy anytime someone spoke.. And she was obviously abused. Shes now a very happy friendly fun dog and shes not scared of people anymore :) . Thanks for the chance to win!

aww awsome contest for old dogs to keep them young again and happy

  5. I would love to learn more about the diet plan. I have three dogs, but one in particular, is a fat, overweight, lazy dachshund…whom I just ADORE! So, when I take him to the vet, I try to help him weigh less on the scales by not feeding him before we go. :o ( I’ve tried to help this little pooch, even had his thyroid checked to see if that is why he is so fat. Nope… the vet says he is eating too much and not getting enough exercise. I would love to try something new in the nutrition area for him. This is a GREAT giveaway. Thanks!

  6. I have two dogs. My Darla is five years old and she is our baby. Last year I took in another dog that was found in the neighborhood. A big bellied bassett-beagle mix who we all think was dropped off. I eventually found his owners but they were not mentally able to take him back. It was a very unusual circumstance to say the least. He is an older male who is not fixed so I have to leave him outside. I was supposed to find a home for him if you know what I mean. But I have become too attached to him. He kind of looks like Whinnie the Pooh. But I call him Snorty because he snorts like a pig. He seems to have some stiffness in his back legs so I would definitely be interested in the Hill Science diet for him.

Both of our dogs are strays that we took in (people like to dump dogs in the country). One of them, my baby, is getting on in age. :( This would be such a wonderful thing to win!

  8. Your dogs are absolutely lovely! Well, they deserve nutritious food. After all, they give you joy and comfort. Keep on having fun with them!

  9. I have a 2yr old “Jug” (jack/pug mix) and his favorite thing to do is snuggle up with me or my husband and his favorite snuggie (its a Superman snuggie).

  10. PaperPoet says:

I have an 8-year-old Shih Tzu that we adopted last January. Every day has great moments with her, but the best ones are when she gives hugs! She leans in and presses as hard as she can with her whole head and body. So sweet!

  11. I have 2 dogs Cheerios & Cookie, they are Pomeranians. They are my little balls of fur.

    Cheerios Moment:
He’s a lazy dog, but oh so lovable, and spoiled. I love that whenever he hears me talk he cries for attention. He’s just like a kid.

    Cookie Moment:
She’s a strange one, her way of giving kisses is by acting as if she’s going to bite you but then just kisses you. I know weird, but she’s never bit anyone, I think it’s a unique kiss. :)

What cute doggies!!!! We have a friend that has a Pug. Her name is Cayenne, and she NEVER misses a meal! We have two Miniature Schnauzers. Savannah Bo Bana was the runt in a liter we had and Casper the Friendly Ghost is a rescue dog! He was not a very friendly dog when we first got him a year and a half ago, but he’s in love with us now, just as we are with him. Rescue is such an amazing thing for animals and humans alike! I couldn’t be more happy with Casper now. Winning would be great! Thanks for the chance!

  14. my baby is 11, she is not really a baby she is a 90 lb black lab!

  15. My baby is a 9 year old shelter treasure who brings so much joy to my life. She’s a pug-bassett hound mix with an incredible appetite and silly habits to help her get those coveted food items.
My old girl is a 13 year old lab mix, an “oops” baby from a neighbors dog who we got for free as a puppy when I was in 5th grade. She’s a good old farm dog who loves to catch groundhogs and chase the tractor. It breaks my heart to see the health problems she has started to experience, I can’t even imagine life without her!

  16. Cute, cute, cute! Thank you Amy, for posting about the new Healthy Movement food. I didn’t know about it and we will certainly give it a try. My Billie is moving a lot slower now too!

  17. My rescue, Hannah, and I love our walks! Those are definitely the favorite moments together. I am looking forward to the challenge!

  18. Your piggies are soooooo cute!!!! No goddies allowed in our garden coop, so I live vicariously through other families haha.

  19. Your pugs are cute! Pug owners are one of a kind! Here’s some of my favorite pug moments with my puggie.

  20. My oldie but goodie is a 9 year old chihuahua/terrier pound doggy. He LOVES Science small dog bones to chew on..not at all like the MilkBones most dogs eat. He’s still pretty active altho, one hip constantly pops out and the vet taught me how to replace it. (saved me bundles!) I would love to receive some Science dog food and treats. Please enter me. P.S. I love your blog. All the seniors at our center are doing it. Thanks so much…Sharon

My best moment with my dog was when she passed her certified therapy dog test. She loves going and visiting kids, the elderly and veterans and they love her gentle nature and sweet disposition.

  24. Yesterday makes the top of the list with my dog. We were trying to print his pawprint for my daughter’s family school poster and while he was ok with paint, he didn’t want to step on paper.

After the third attempt our big Irish Wolfhound said “no” Scooby Doo style and made a motion like an umpire calling someone out. He’s such a goof!

Our littlest dogs favorite thing to do, is flip his food bowl over and over anytime he is hungry and the bowl is empty. It is so funny because the bowl is bigger than him, but he figures out a way to flip it over and over!

#1 My favorite moment was the day I saw Flip for the first time in the Connecticut Humane Society Shelter…I saw her in a tiny cage, our eyes locked, and I fell in love instantly. I knew I had to ‘adopt’ her and she ‘adopted’ me. We are now best friends going on 12 years.

One of my most favorite moments with Flip was when the vet came out of the operating room and told me she she as going to be ‘OK’. That one word has given me many more years with Flip!

One of my most favorite moments with Flip happens almost every day. Flip looks me right in the eye with her gorgeous blue eyes, as if to say ‘Thank you for adopting me. I love you’. It just makes me melt.
