Let’s face it – canvas ain’t cheap. And sometimes, for little art projects, there is an alternative solution to purchasing a canvas surface. Alma actually demonstrates how to turn a soap box (which you might normally throw away) into a “canvas” on her blog. There is so much you can do with these soap boxes, including your own pieces of art (or even copy your own art and Mod Podge to the surface). You can then display, hang them or give them as gifts. Simply brilliant, I say. Visit more pictures from Alma here.

Blogger who loves the color blue and sock monkeys. You can find me in public easily— I'm wearing glasses and lots of stripes.

Amy, you amaze me! Your article over at Craft Critique is amazingly clear and will help me, I’m sure, to do better online.
Thank you so much for that help!

Oh these are so cool! And so pretty! I’m looking at doing another decoupage project on my blog soon – it might look something like this!

This is so cool I’ve gathered my supplies and I’m doing it at my desk. What a GREAT recycling idea! I won’t be throwing any more mac & cheese boxes, Kitten Chow boxes, or boxes of any kind in the trash!
