You couldn’t ask for a better surface to Mod Podge on, truly. This IKEA stool is flat and smooth with no tricky edges – so if you are a beginner, you might want to pay attention. It was originally purchased and Mod Podged by Tif of The Ramblings of Dottie Angel, and she used her wallpaper collection to do it. Which makes me realize that I need a wallpaper collection, pronto. Just some scraps would be nice. Then if I ever get a really smooth stool like this one, I can make one just as cute. Find the blog entry with this wallpaper stool here.
PS – When Tif bench Mondayed with this stool, I knew we were crafty soulmates.

Blogger who loves the color blue and sock monkeys. You can find me in public easily— I'm wearing glasses and lots of stripes.

Ooooooo. I love!
That is freaking cute!!!! I follow you on Twitter. Glad I clicked!
It is very cute! You should check at wallpaper stores. When I was a kid, they used to give away the old wall paper sample books. I can’t remember what all I did with the books of wallpaper samples, but that would be a great way to get some samples for covering stools and such.
my friend and i just got a TON of wallpaper sample books and fabric samples for free at a local paint/design store. they were eager to get rid of them and save them from the dumpster. great way to get scraps for all kinds of fun projects!
What a great project, very cool!

Amy, I do so enjoy meeting the people you invite to your Mod Podge get togethers to chat about crafts. What interesting conversations. Well, in a one-sided virtual way. But I feel like you’re saying, “Oh, I have this friend you just have to meet. She does such cool stuff…” And indeed they do. What if you had a Mod Podge Convention? Flash mob?
Thanks everyone for the sweet comments!
Kat, I’ll do that. Love that idea!
Catnap, you are right. I need to have a conference. I’m not sure how to organize or when, but it’s a great idea!
