Artful Jewelry book review and giveaway.

I had an awesome giveaway planned for today, but that fell through like things do sometimes – so I’m having a different awesome giveaway – Artful Jewelry by Jo Packham for Chronicle Books.  I’m very excited about this one because I have a confession.  I’m getting back into jewelry.  For the last several years I’ve been wearing silver hoop earrings and nothing else, and now it’s time to spice things up a bit.

Artful Jewelry is actually a kit paired with a spiral-bound text, and here’s what is super cool about it – the jewelry pieces you are taught to assemble are inspired by famous works of art.  From Boticelli’s La Primavera to Van Gogh’s The Starry Night, you’ll get step-by-step instructions for eleven projects and materials to complete six of them.  Don’t you love being able to start on projects right away?  Artful Jewelry also includes history on the artists and more information about their work.  It doesn’t get much better than that.

I’m giving a copy away today, and I know you are going to enjoy it.  I’ve got a few jewelry pieces in the works (using Dimensional Magic), but I love the embroidery floss necklace pictured on the cover of Artful Jewelry, so I’ll be Mod Pausing to make that little gem.  And yes, I just made up “Mod Pausing.”  It means stopping a Mod Podge projects to do something else.  Anyway, here are the rules for the giveaway.

2. Only one entry per person.
3. Contest will close this Wednesday, March 23rd at midnight (EST).
4. PLEASE leave your e-mail address if it’s not attached in Blogger – I need some way to reach you.
