New Year craft: subway art in a sparkle frame

Countdown to new year dollar store craftPrepare yourself for the fastest tutorial in the universe, truly. I wanted to do a new year craft, and it turns out that crafty ideas aren’t that easy to find for the first day of the year. I was also running short on time, so it had to be quick. All of the sudden, a Craft Gossip e-mail newsletter pops into the ol’ inbox, and so did this cute (and free) printable by Custom Printables. How very crafty-meant-to-be. Here’s how it’s done.

Gather These Supplies

IMG_3421Here’s the starting frame. Black. Plain. Needs something. I sprayed with gold spray paint and allowed to dry.

IMG_3430Add several layers of Sparkle Mod Podge to the outside of the frame and allow to dry.

IMG_3431Print out the printable and trim to fit; put in your frame.

Countdown to new year dollar store craftI’m serious, that’s all it takes! I didn’t even really need a tutorial, but I thought it would be fun given how easy it is. Now I have a nice little crafty decoration to ring in the new year. Come back tomorrow for my top five favorite things of 2010. You’re gonna love it.
